Photo Submissions Thanks for your interest in submitting photos for NANPA's website! Photo submissions are accepted from current NANPA members only. Not a member yet? Join right here! Submitting your photos is a great way increase the visibility and marketing reach of your nature photography. This is a significant member benefit and available to all members. Photos submitted by members are displayed on our website on a rotational basis (see below). There is no charge for submissions for the interior pages. The photos appearing on our front page are the result of a juried selection, performed annually, known as the NANPA Showcase Collection. Image placement and rotation schedule Digital submission criteria How to submit your photos How to manage your contact information Photo Examples Placement and Rotation - There are six "slots" for photos on NANPA's website. One on each of the six section lead-in pages (Home, About, News, Resources, Education, Members). Since there are more than six photos to work with, we have implemented an automated rotation system that selects the next set of photos from a list once each day. When the list is exhausted, we start back at the beginning and continue. So, each day you visit NANPA's website, you will see a different set of photos. However, it is virtually impossible for us to tell you ahead of time when and on which pages your photos might appear. Be patient, they will appear! And when they do they are visible for 24 hours until they are replaced by the next set. Currently, the rotation cycle takes about 30 days. At any time, you can view the set of photos that are currently on display at NANPA's website on the "Now Appearing" page. This is a one-click way to find out if your photos have made it around the rotation and finally been published. Submission Criteria Photos must be taken by NANPA members. Maximum of three photos per member in two different sizes (6 image files). (can be changed as often as you like) Each submission must include a brief title. All submissions must be available on a non-exclusive basis. All submissions must be digital (JPEG format, RGB mode, 72ppi). Each image must be prepared and uploaded in two sizes: a larger (popup) image that shows the full frame of the image and a smaller (thumbnail) image that must be cropped to fit a presentation square. Popups may not be more than 400 pixels on any side (sample). Thumbnails must be exactly 172x172 pixels (sample). If your original is not a square, the thumbnail will have to be created from a cropped version of the original - do not resize your popup to fit these dimensions or the image will be distorted and unacceptable for viewing. * In addition, image files must be saved such that their file sizes do not exceed these maximums:     Thumbnail - 50k     Popup - 100k Submission does not guarantee usage. Image files may be removed by the photo editor without notification. Submissions are managed by each member using the forms below. NANPA cannot edit, prepare, or upload photos for you. If you have difficulty with digital submissions, please contact the webmaster. Tip: Most photos will appear near the right side of our pages. If your subject is an animal, it is best to have it facing left - into the page. If you have right-facing images, just flip them horizontally in your software to be left-facing! * All images must be exactly the dimensions specified. NANPA will not crop photos for you. The larger popup version can have a different aspect ratio, but the biggest dimension of the popup (width or height) cannot be greater than 400 pixels. This means you can crop a portion or "preview" of your image for the smaller version and include an uncropped version for the popup. See example below for versions of the same photo cropped and sized according to these specs. Submit Your Photos Photo are submitted using forms located in the Members Area. Just login with your NANPA user ID and password can click "Website Photos" to use the submission forms. You may choose to provide additional contact information to make it easier for potential buyers to contact you. Just check the appropriate boxes on the submission form.
