Great Photographic Wonders of AFRICA ..Botswana +
November 2-15, 2012 : TRAVEL WITH TWR to AFRICA

We are excited to announce a change in our African safari this November!  Due to popular request, and word from our expert sources there… that the wildlife viewing in the Okavanga Delta and surrounding areas are unusually abundant due to the flooded river plains, we have added three more days in Botswana, at the exclusive Linyanti Bush Camp, renowned for it’s location in a remote part of the country… not to mention it’s proximity to the best wildlife viewing areas in Africa!  Linyanti is perhaps the loveliest of the Botswanan nature reserves…  and along with Duma Tau, our other camp, faces the river. Only 48 visitors are accepted at any time, making the reserve an exclusive oasis and haven of peace and beauty.  It is a haven for zebras, impalas, giraffes, lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, the largest herds of buffalo in Africa, hyenas, jackals and hunting dogs.  The delta is also a haven for a multitude of bird species and and interesting river creatures like crocodiles and the elusive lechwes.

Then we are continuing on to Zimbabwe, once reputed to be “The Most Beautiful Country in Africa”.  Formerly known as Rhodesia, the country went through a period of great instability due to the harsh regime of Mugabe.  Now that his reign and power is diminishing, , the country is opening up once again, and wildlife is returning with a vengeance. New and improved camps have been opening up for the intrepid travelers who are starting to visit this country again, and we will be one of the first photo groups to enter this beautiful, and lush savanna.

Our camp is located  in the Hwange National Park, one of the largest and most popular in all Zimbabwe.  At 5,657 square miles, it will be hard to run into other visitors.. and we expect to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, leopards, hippos, impalas, and other wildlife  in this land of palm trees, acacias, and towering teak trees… a landscape dramatically different from the rest  of Africa.

Of course, Zimbabwe is home to the famous Victoria Falls, where we will spend a full day at the famous Victoria Hotel, where we will “take tea” in the tradition of Livingstone, and spend time photographing the churning waters of the Falls.  This area will be filled with tourists, with the usual souvenir stalls and refreshment stands… but a “must-see” for the first time visitor to Africa.

    Atacama-Patagonia Expedition
November 5-19, 2012 : Come with me and see one of my favorite places in southern South America: Patagonia, a wildlife and landscape bonanza for the nature lover and photographer.  Another area which is rarely visited and unknown to most people is the Atacama Desert in Chile.  Coming from Argentina, we will be crossing the Andes, a spectacular scenic journey which also exposes you to the Qollas, the native people inhabiting this area. This trip offers a diversity of habitats from the dry desert to the lush beech forests, wildlife and cultures.

East Coast Central Florida Photo Workshop
11/29 thru 12/2, 2012 : This workshop will visit some of the most diverse wildlife and avian photography locations in Central Florida including Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge (MINWR), Canaveral National Seashore and Viera Wetlands.

Both MINWR and Viera Wetlands will be flush with avian activity. Migratory ducks are normally present in great numbers. White Pelican opportunities are excellent. The year-round residents include Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Tri-colored Heron, Great Blue Heron, White and Glossy Ibis and Roseate Spoonbill. Reddish Egret populations are quite abundant so expect to see many. If time allows the threatened Florida Scrub Jay will be a primary query at a nearby scrub habitat sanctuary where they live. The Scrub Jays are particularly cooperative at the sanctuary offering excellent photographic opportunities of this handsome bird.

I authored the only photographic site guide to these and other areas in East Central Florida which is sold through BIRDS AS ART (https://store.birdsasart.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=57). I know these areas well and using that experience we will visit some of the most unique locales East Central Florida has to offer.
