    Whooping Crane Photo Tour
Jan. 26-27, 2013 : Head out aboard the Jack Flash to capture vivid images of endangered whooping cranes. This tour includes space for five (5) on two boat-based morning shoots designed to catch the cranes at their most active, feasting upon the Gulf-Coast bounty.

With Jeff’s guidance take a variety of incredible photographs as you watch the behavior of these unique birds—the last descendants of nature’s only totally wild flock—in their own habitat along Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. See juveniles interact with their parents. Wonder at the birds’ size and elegant gawkiness. Smile at the sound of their trumpeting calls. Capture fantastic images of these fantastic birds pulling blue crabs up from the mud of the estuary bottom.

The boat we’ll utilize has been set up with the special needs of wildlife photographers in mind. Get creative as you choose which of three decks to work from. Our captain is careful to respect the birds’ needs but still knows how to get photographers close enough for the great shots.

Work from your choice of three decks, which allow you to creatively focus on these magnificent animals from myriad angles. And never fear~~Jack Flash has a restroom and enclosed cabin so you can take a breather if desired.

The boat leaves from the Rockport area both mornings of our tour about ½ hour before sunrise so you’ll want to stay in Rockport or Port Aransas for the weekend. (Lodging not included in the tour).

TOUR includes two (2) extensive boat-based photo shoots on SATURDAY, JANUARY 26TH & SUNDAY, JANUARY 27TH, 2013 with afternoons spent around Rockport shooting brown pelicans, shorebirds, shrimp boats, etc.

    Winter in the Adirondacks
Jan 30 - Feb 3, 2013 : You won't want to miss Winter in the Adirondacks. The mountains, her rivers, streams and waterfalls take on a magical aura with the arrival of winter, that visitors in the gentler seasons can only imagine. We'll be out early to hike or snowshoe short distances off the beaten path. Our subjects will range from snow covered peaks bathed in morning and evening light to the crystal fairylands created by the mist rising off a coursing river or a crashing waterfalls. Broad meadows sculpted by windblown snow may even be accented with a graceful whitetail deer browsing its edges. If you're not familiar with winter photography, not to worry. You'll use skills you already have and you'll get the opportunity to try out and practice some new techniques that are especially useful for winter photography. Before our departure I'll share useful hints ranging from how to dress, to how to care for your camera gear in and out of the cold. Once in the field we'll concentrate on those special considerations that will help you bring home exciting, dramatic winter images.

    Florida West Coast Photo Workshop
January 31-Feb 4, 2013 : Join us on a photo workshop or tour to some of the very best locations Join us on a photo workshop or tour to some of the very best locations of Florida with professional nature photographer John Slonina. Florida unique wildlife and climate make it a nature photographers paradise. John has been photographing in Florida for over 20 years.
Escape the cold up north for warm South Florida. Winter is known as the dry season. This is the time of year when the tropical storms and the summer rain have passed. The lower water levels means the wildlife is more concentrated and easier to find and photograph.
Each day we will visit some of the best spots in the state. Each area is handpicked to provide the best photographic opportunities. This is based on John’s countless years of experience photographing Florida’s wild locations. We will travel to a variety of natural habitats.
Florida is the premier destination for bird photography. Expect to shoot thousands of bird photos along with other wildlife and awesome landscapes,
