    Ultimate Alaska Photography Tour
June 15-25, 2013 : Join Peggy with a small group of adventurous wildlife photographers for an amazing trip to capture images of Alaska coastal brown bears in their natural habitat, in Lake Clark National Park.  We will watch these amazing animals as they go about their daily lives.  The bears will be digging for razor clams and foraging in meadows for sedge grasses.

Most of the animals seen will be mothers with cubs and juveniles.  However, since this trip coincides with mating season, we may see some larger males (and mating activity) as well.

Other opportunities will include jaw-dropping scenery, a chartered boat ride from the lodge to a bird rookery (lots of puffins), eagles, and snow-capped volcanoes.

The trip begins in Anchorage, with a ride on the Alaska Railroad.  We'll travel to Whittier, then board the Glacier 26 for a 5-hour cruise of over 135 miles into Prince William Sound.  You will see 26 named glaciers and many more unnamed ones. We get face to face with these towering masses of ice, so close you can hear the glaciers move and gaze at their brilliant blue hues.  Glacier calving is normally seen on every cruise.  Wildlife seen on the cruise can include sea otters, harbor seals, orcas (killer whales), and humpback whales.

See the website for the full itinerary and prices. (http://www.peggyguice.com)

    Enjoying Flower & Garden Photography
June 29, 2013 : This year's Enjoying Flower & Garden Photography workshop will be conducted on Saturday, June 29. This is the earliest in the year that we've held this workshop, because we want to arrive at the great Sonnenberg Gardens as close to peak season as possible.

Still, get your reservations in early. No more than eight (8) participants will be accommodated on the tour. As with all my photo tours, classroom-style sessions are minimal because I find that participants get much more out of being in the field with their cameras and having suggestions and recommendations offered, as well as questions answered along the way. With a small group I\'m able to work with each person, on what they're interested in  technique, technology or creativity.
After a morning shooting in these amazing gardens we'll break for lunch and review the images we've captured during the morning. That provides participants the opportunity to actually put lessons learned to practice in the afternoon.

At Hurricane Ridge the winter snows will be melting fast, with Avalanche Lilies blooming first in the high chilly air. This 3-day workshop is co-led with Alan Kearney.

Photography and Personal Vision at Focus Ranch
June 30-July 6, 2013 : Join me at Focus Ranch, a real working cattle ranch, located on the western Colorado and Wyoming border in a section of the Northern Rocky Mountains about 50 miles northwest of Steamboat Springs. During the workshop week, we will cover both the aesthetic and technical aspects of photographic image making. This will provide you the opportunity to learn to express your unique vision more deeply in your photographs.

In addition to the photography sessions, you'll enjoy delicious meals, comfortable lodging and opportunities to participate in various ranch activities. The natural beauty of the area, old ranch buildings, ranch animals, wildlife and wildflowers, and off ranch field trips all offer unlimited photographic possibilities.

In addition, if you use an iPhone or iPad, there will be optional instruction on the many creative photo apps and techniques available for image making.
