History Committee

Charge: Develops guidelines and conducts interviews with people who have had an impact on nature photography, with an intent to compile an oral history and coordinate a book. Develops a "History of the Development of NANPA" and recommends policies and procedures ways to do this.

Oral History Project

One of the projects the history committee has undertaken is to gather oral histories from notable nature photographers who have been prominent in our field and contributed to and promoted nature photography.

These interviews are conducted in person and the audio recordings and written transcripts are being compiled and converted for viewing from our website. It's a long and labor-intensive process, but the experience preserved and shared by these individuals is priceless. Members will receive e-mail notifications when new oral histories are prepared for publication.
