Content: Internationally recognized photographer, Pat O'Hara, and environmental writer-poet, Tim McNulty, have had a longstanding association as collaborating authors with eight books. Their successful professional endeavors have been based upon concept development, research, positive interaction with publishers, mutual respect, reputation, and HARD WORK. This moderated session will explore the specific areas mentioned above. Time will also be dedicated to questions and answers with the audience. The program will conclude with a 20 minute multi-image lapse dissolve program set to music entitled Wilderness Scenario.

Pat O'Hara's Bio -- Pat O'Hara has been an environmental photographer and a leader in his profession for nearly two decades. His contemporary travel schedule takes him to national and international locations, often to photograph remote parks and wilderness areas.

His color photography has been showcased in sixteen books, many on important conservation issues. He has been published extensively in magazines, calendars, greeting cards, posters, advertisements, and electronic mediums. Pat has received numerous awards such as the Photography Gold Medal presented by the New York Art Directors Club, and the Award of Excellence by Communication Arts Magazine. Fluent in digital imaging, Pat has used this technology in his creative endeavors, particularly with fine art printing. Public speaking, workshops and seminars relating to photography as an art form are among his diverse professional activities. Several book concepts featuring Pat's photography are currently under development pertaining to natural history themes. A new fine art portfolio is forthcoming, to be complemented by exhibitions of his fine art prints.

Based in Port Angeles, Washington, his studio is located in the forested foothills near Olympic National Park.

Tim McNulty's Bio -- Tim McNulty is a poet, conservationist, and nature writer. His poems and essays have appeared in numerous publications in the U.S. and Canada, and his natural history writings have been translated into German and Japanese. He has lectured, given poetry readings, and taught writing workshops throughout the western United States.

Tim is the author of Olympic National Park, A Natural History Guide, published by Houghton Mifflin Company, which won a 1997 Washington Governor's Writers Award. He is coauthor, with photographer Pat O'Hara, of Washington's Wild Rivers: The Unfinished Work, published by The Mountaineers Books, and an award-winning series of books on national parks including Grand Canyon, Window on the River of Time, and Grand Teton National Park, Where Lightning Walks, published by Woodlands Press. Their most recent collaboration, Washington's Mount Rainier National Park, A Centennial Celebration, was published by Mountaineers Books. Tim also coauthored The Art of Nature, Reflections on the Grand Design, with photographer Bruce Heinemann, and has contributed to several books on natural history and conservation. His essays and articles have appeared in American Forests, Defenders, High Country News, Pacific, Sierra, Slate, the Seattle Times, and other publications.

Tim's books of poetry include In Blue Mountain Dusk (Broken Moon Press), Pawtracks (Copper Canyon Press), and Reflected Light (Tangram Press). He lives with his wife and daughter in the foothills of Washington's Olympic Mountains.
