NANPA's Sixth Annual Summit
Biodiversity 2000

January 12-16, 2000 - Renaissance Austin Hotel, Austin, TX

Foundation Silent Auction Listings

The NANPA Foundation, a C-3 non-profit organization was created to foster the awareness of and appreciation for nature through teaching the next generation. While our efforts are centering primarily on youth education, we are broadening our educational efforts to all segments of North American society. The Foundation is currently funding a program, which provides scholarships for high school aged youths to attend the 2000 summit and participate in exciting and stimulating educational sessions assisted by top professionals, including photo field trips.

One of the Foundation’s fund-raising efforts is its successful annual Silent Auction held each year at NANPA’s Annual Summit. Through the generous donations of items by our sponsors at last February’s Silent Auction in San Diego, California, the Foundation raised over $7000. Our goal is to raise at least $15,000 at our 2000 Silent Auction.

This year we will be approaching the auction a bit differently. We want to make it a lot more fun and interactive, so in addition to the photographic items, we are expanding to include things outside the realm of photography. Some of the expanded items include: four nights’ stay and dinner for two at the Las Vegas Rio Suites, the host hotel for the 2001 Annual Summit, local Austin restaurant gift certificates, and cases of beer and wine. Also we are introducing something that we are very excited about - an hour of personal one-on-one with some of the masters in the nature photography industry. This includes people such as George Lepp, Darrell Gulin, Joe or Mary Ann McDonald, to name just a few.

On Thursday afternoon, January 13, during the second half of lunch, we will be auctioning off time with these masters of photography. Just think of the possibilities of spending a whole uninterrupted hour with one of them. Also, we will be auctioning off gift certificates to local restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The rest of the items can be bid on from Wednesday, January 12, through Saturday, January 15. We hope that you will be as enthusiastic as we are about our next Silent Auction in Austin, Texas in January 2000. We look forward to your participation!

Here are the items that have already been donated. Please check back periodically for new items!
