- Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail - Lots of waterfowl...I've often seen Herons
(several species) along the shore.
- Barton Creek Greenbelt - The creek is usually plenty full in the winter
- Wild Basin - Interesting plants, terrain and birds
Outside Austin:
- McKinney Falls - birds and sometimes deer
- Inks Lake State Park - Deer
- Enchanted Rock - Deer, Armadillos, Scenery
- Pedernales Falls State Park - Deer, Armadillos, Scenery
- Garner State Park - Deer, Scenery
- Lost Maples State Park
- Brazos Bend State Park - Alligators
- Aransas National Wildlife Refuge - Deer, birds, alligators, wild hogs, javelina
- Big Bend National Park - Far from Austin, but nice for landscapes, birds, javelina, deer
