She is a full-time nature photographer who markets her own work plus that of others. Kathy also teaches nature photography and conducts workshops around Texas. Her company, KAC Productions, specializes in birds, butterflies, flowers and general nature. Niki Barrie is a freelance writer, editor and picture editor. She has worked as picture editor on the staffs of Ducks Unlimited, Wildlife Conservation and Audubon magazines as well as Corbis and Phototake picture agencies. She also edits The Picture Professional, magazine of the American Society of Picture Professionals (ASPP). Sharon Cohen-Powers has been in the nature photography field for more than 20 years. She presently edits The Guilfoyle Report, the Dispatch (put out by AG Editions) and NANPA's Currents. She is the former owner of The Wildlife Collection stock photo agency. Danita Delimont is the national president of the American Society of Picture Professionals (ASPP), an agent to more than 20 professional photographers, and has spent the last 20 years selling and marketing stock to advertising and editorial clients. She specializes in providing clients with fresh images for brochures and marketing needs. Deborah Free, through her consulting company, Deborah Free - Image Consulting, works extensively with both photographers and stock agencies. She specializes in evaluating existing businesses, offering marketable suggestions, implementing new procedures and sound legal practices, and identifing new markets. She is the past president, CEO and manager of nature stock agency Natural Selection. Steve Freligh and James Fuller will review portfolios as a team. Steve Freligh, publisher of Nature's Best Photography magazine, has more than 20 years of magazine and book publishing experience, including senior photo editor of National Wildlife and International Wildlife, photo director of Ranger Rick, and photographic consultant for Discovery Communications, Eastman Kodak Company and others. James Fuller, director of conservation for the Nature's Best Foundation, is a conservation biologist with research experience in six African countries and the United States. He also reviews photo submissions sent to Nature's Best Photography magazine. Darrell Gulin, a photographer for more than 16 years, has had his work published in many national publications including Audubon, Outdoor Photographer, Outdoor & Nature Photography, Newsweek and National Geographic. He has given speeches and presentations and taught workshops in many places throughout the United States and in South Africa. Bill Jaynes, with experience as a project manager, photo and text editor, and photographer, is reviewing photos only for possible use in the 2003 Inner Reflections engagement calendar. A favorite of nature photographers, Inner Reflections calendars have won 42 gold medals in the annual Calendar Marketing Association contest since 1990. Pat McGlauffin is the vice president of operations for Animals Animals/Earth Scenes and has been photo editor of its extensive image library for nearly nine years. In her 14 years with the agency she has also selected many of the photographers represented, supervised the photo research department, and handled price negotiation and marketing development. John Nuhn is the longtime photo editor of National Wildlife and International Wildlife magazines, currently enjoying his 30th year in the publishing business. John's work involves reviewing and editing all genres of nature photography, but most often wildlife, wild plants and landscapes. Ray Pfortner, a stock agent and stock photographer, has worked on the business side of nature photography since 1984, including Kennan Ward Photography, Minden Pictures and Peter Arnold, Inc. He now manages magazine stories and book production (25 titles to date) for Art Wolfe. Dave Ross, senior photography editor at Corbis, has 20 years experience editing and researching diverse subjects for books, magazines, CD-ROMs, online publications and the Corbis digital collection. Formerly he was staff picture editor for the National Geographic Society and U.S. News and World Report book divisions. Barry Runk has been a natural science photographer at Grant Heilman Photography for 39 years, photographing wildlife, plants and the sciences. As vice president of the picture agency, he handles picture research and reviews portfolios for potential new sources of photography. Allen Russell is immediate past president of the Picture Agency Council of America (PACA). He started in the industry as a photojournalist, and has also been a successful agency owner and commercial shooter. Based on his ranch in Montana, he is currently the executive director of photography for Index Stock Imagery in New York. Lonnie Tuttle Schroeder is the executive director of the Picture Agency Council of America (PACA). Before she assumed this role, she managed a small general stock agency in Minneapolis for 10 years. She has been with PACA since January of 1994. Jim Steinberg, a professional photographer for 25 years, specializes in landscape/scenic photography with emphasis on wildflower portraits. As a stock/project photographer, Jim shoots scientific, environmental and natural history images. He is president of Portfolio Publications, Inc., which publishes nature calendars and note cards. Bonnie Stutski, photo editor at Smithsonian magazine, has more than 25 years experience in various aspects of photography including 5 years as photo editor for National Wildlife Federation books. At Smithsonian, she handles a variety of subjects including natural history, art, travel, history, science and contemporary culture. Doug Wechsler is director of VIREO, the world's most comprehensive bird photograph collection. He works with publishers from around the world in marketing VIREO's images. Doug is also a photographer whose work has appeared in hundreds of publications, and he is author and photographer of 14 children's books. Stuart and Michele Westmorland are full time stock/assignment/wildlife photographers and writers with combined experience of 25 years. Their pictures and stories have appeared in numerous publications, books, calendars and cards. Their specialties include underwater and topside marine life, exotic wildlife, scenics and travel.
