The instructors will help participants find their own unique artistic insights through visual literacy, natural design and impressionistic techniques. This workshop will teach photographers to:
Fee: $80 member, $110 non-member (includes handouts) Speakers:Gary Braasch is a regular assignment photographer for publications such as Smithsonian, Audubon, Discover, Natural History, and The New York Times, photographing 33 environmental assignments for his major clients during the last seven years. A professional photographer and writer since 1975, he is also known for sensitive evocations of nature's design. In 1999 he published a revised edition of his top-selling Amphoto book, Photographing the Patterns of Nature. Gary's work has been published in more than 100 magazines worldwide, including illustrating major articles for National Geographic, Time, National Wildlife, BBC Wildlife, Terre Sauvage, Orion, Outdoor Photographer and Scientific American. Larry Michael uses his photography as a medium for art. Inspired by the natural world, he is moved to explore, create, and celebrate the beauty and art in nature. His artistic skills have been developed over 25 years while photographing in a variety of locations including the rain forests of Central America, the tundras of Alaska, Europe, and extensive work in North America. His work has matured from documenting nature to producing fine art abstract images. Larry's images have appeared in numerous books, magazines, calendars, corporate ads, private collections, and electronic media. He has received many awards, including first place in the British Gas/BBC Photographer of the Year competition.
