This is the final issue of the Email Newsletter for the 2005 Summit in Charlotte, North Carolina, January 19 - 23, 2005. In this issue we highlight arrival information and details you will need to make this the best Summit ever!

Top 5 reasons why it's not too late to sign up for the Summit!

5) Many airlines have winter fare sales going on. Another alternative is to drive and take advantage of the many photographic opportunities along the way!

4) There are still rooms available at the Westin Charlotte hotel at the $104 discounted rate and many attendees still need roommates to split the cost.

3) Enhance your experience by attending a pre or post Summit workshop or field trip. There are plenty of seats for the workshops and a few spots are still open on two field trips (see below).

2) New exhibitors are joining the trade show every day. There is still time to come enjoy the growing number of discounts available to attendees.

And the number one reason why it's not too late to sign up for the Summit...

1) You can start the year out right by creating the networking connections and business opportunities and deals that will make the difference for you and your business in 2005.

MEET Keynote Speaker
Kevin Adams

Kevin Adams has had a lifelong love affair with nature, particularly the mountains and coasts of his home state of North Carolina. He has produced five books about the area, with a sixth book to be published in 2005 and two more in production. In 1994, Kevin was presented the North Carolina Year of the Coast Award and in 1994 the Year of the Mountains Award. Kevin's images and writing have appeared in most of the country's nature and travel magazines, including Backpacker, National Geographic Adventure, Nature Photographer, Nature's Best, Natural History and Outdoor Photographer, as well as many regional publications. He also leads photo tours and teaches seminars and workshops.

A New Voyage to Carolina
In 1700, John Lawson "accidentally met with a gentleman" who assured him that "Carolina was the best country [he] could go to." Accordingly, he sailed from Great Britain and embarked on a voyage of discovery through the Carolinas. Lawson's account of the journey, A New Voyage to Carolina, is still in print, and for nearly 300 years it has provided educators, scholars and armchair adventurers with a taste of the natural and cultural history of the area. Kevin Adams embarked on a "voyage of discovery" of his own in 1988 when he accidentally met with a camera. Early in his photo experience, Kevin realized that to be the best photographer he could be, he needed to curb the desire to travel to remote regions of the world. Instead, he became engrossed with his Carolina homeland. In the tradition of Lawson, he will talk you along as he travels across Carolina with camera in tow, highlighting the beauty of this remarkably diverse state while providing a background of how he photographs and the hardships, both physical and emotional, of covering an often challenging region.
