Eastern North Carolina Infrared with Jamie Konarski Davidson and Mark Hilliard

June 21 - June 24

Infrared and the world of invisible light is a fascinating thing. As photographers, we’re forced to “see” what we cannot see and given amazing opportunities to capture the world around us in unique ways with wavelengths and post-processing interpretive possibilities. Northeastern North Carolina’s rural landscape includes working farms and fishing villages and incredible natural areas to explore, including Lake Mattamuskeet NWR. This workshop is an immersion in infrared image making and discovering the rustic beauty of the area. Yes, you can shoot color, but the primary focus of this workshop is infrared photography from capturing images to processing for faux color and black/white..

From the coastal shrimp & fishing vessels to the rural landscape and the natural beauty of one of our natural treasures, Lake Mattamuskeet NWR, you’ll learn and discover the magic of infrared and learn different ways to post-process. With IR the ordinary scenes can become surreal, and different lighting situations lend themselves to this style of photography. Learn more at
