Summit Super Session: Gary Crabbe

February 24, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am PST

The 2019 Nature Photography Summit and Trade Show, February 21-23 in Las Vegas, NV is a gathering of hundreds of photographers, photo editors and other members of the nature photography community with a focus on learning and inspiration. For 2019, 5 Summit Super Sessions are offered before and after the conference for those wanting even more.

Developing Your Personal Vision and Style: Landscape, Nature, and Travel Images That Tell a Story
Gary Crabbe

Find out how photographers develop their own personal vision and style, growing beyond clichés, postcards, and icon shots to take truly evocative images that communicate exactly what they see as special in the world. We’ll cover the full spectrum of what it takes to create images that truly communicate, from gear selection, pre-planning, on-location choices we make regarding subject, composition, natural lighting, as well as some post-processing and software considerations. In addition, the presentation will touch on both psychological and physiological factors that affect our creative choices.

Ansel Adams said, “There are two people in every photo: the photographer and the viewer.” Every photographer walks a path toward visual discovery and photographic growth, but it is how we learn to see and compose images that help to connect us with our subject and, in turn, connect the viewer with our images. It is the development of our personal vision and style that helps define our unique angle in this storytelling environment.

Summit Super Sessions are $75/each and can be added with or without the full Summit registration.
