How can I opt out of receiving emails from third-party vendors?

You can opt-out of receiving third-party emails by updating your member profile. Doing this will keep you receiving messages from NANPA, but not from third-party vendors who occasionally rent the NANPA mailing list to provide members with information pertaining to photography/nature photography. Follow these steps to opt-out:

  1. Log into the NANPA website with your username and password at https://www.nanpa.org/members/members.php.
  2. Click on “Edit your member profile and settings” in the 2nd column under the images for NANPA events.
  3. Scroll down near the bottom of the page (first question in the fourth section) and find the category “Exclude from 3rd-Party Emails” and change response to “Yes.”
  4. Click the green “Save Changes” button at the very bottom of the screen and you will be opted-out.
  5. The change may take up to 2 weeks to fully take effect depending on when a list was last provided to a vendor.

If I’m a member of a NANPA Meetup, does that also make me a member of NANPA?

No. NANPA provides nearly 20 Meetup groups that are affiliated with NANPA, but are open to anyone with an interest in nature photography. The Meetups are a way to network with others locally regarding nature photography, and are free to join. To get the benefits of NANPA membership including our free monthly webinars, networking with nature photographers throughout North America, and many other ways to help improve and share your nature photography work, you will need to join NANPA directly. More membership information is available at http://www.nanpa.org/membership/membership-overview-and-benefits/.

I’m traveling to another part of the country and I may have some time to photograph while I’m there. How can I find some good places to go photographing while I’m in that part of the United States?

The best way is to ask your fellow NANPA members who live near where you are traveling. One of the benefits of NANPA membership is the network of nature photographers. Find people in the area you are traveling to by:

  1. Log into the members-only section of the NANPA website.
  2. Click on “Online Member Directory” under the Member Services category of benefits at the bottom of the first column.
  3. Enter search information for the area you are traveling to.
  4. Email your fellow NANPA member.
