DECEMBER 3-15. 2011 SOUTH ECUADOR
Join Nate and Angie Chappell for a bird photography tour South Ecuador. The Southwest Coast of Ecuador is terrific for photographing waterbirds including flamingos, boobies, pelicans and many others. In addition it's home to quite a few beautiful landbirds including parrots, tanagers and motmots which can be brought into feeders and water drips for photo opportunities. We will spend 1 day on Isla de la Plata, which has a large nesting colony of Blue-footed and Nazca Boobies which can be photographed with smaller lenses right along the trail. 4 days will be spent photographing hummingbirds with mutli-flash setups as well as tanagers coming into fruit feeding stations at Copalinga in the cloud forest.
Nate and Angie Chappell spend a few months in Ecuador each year and know the birds and photography opportunities intimately well there. Nate's images have been featured in the NANPA Showcase each of the last 2 years.
Nonphotographer spouses and companions will enjoy this trip a lot as there are beautiful beaches, snorkeling, diving and deep sea fishing available as well as all those birds. Angie Chappell will be leading the nonphotographer spouses/companions for some of these activities.
The cost of the photo tour is $3,700 and includes all transportation within Ecuador, lodging, meals, guiding and photo instruction. $400 single supplement. The cost for a nonphotographer spouse/companion is $2,500. To see the details of the tour please see http://www.trogontours.net/ecuadorsw.
