Malheur, OR 2014 Workshops
MALHEUR NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, OREGON
April 29-May 4, 2014
June 4-8, 2014
We have 2 photo workshops to Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon this spring. Malheur is one of the top breeding bird locations in the lower 48. Each workshop has a maximum of 4 participants and the cost which includes lodging is less than 2k for photographers sharing a room.
April 30-May 5 - Ken Archer is the leader for this workshop. This is the time of year when we have led our workshop each year previously. Highlights at this time of year include lekking Sage Grouse, courting shorebirds such as avocet, curlew and stilt, owls, migrating warblers and much more.
June 4-8 - Nate Chappell is the leader for this workshop. This is also a great time of year to visit Malheur. The Common Nighthawks have arrived by June, it's the best place I know of to photograph them. We also have a good chance to photograph baby birds this time of year. Possibilities include Clark's, Western and Eared Grebes, Owls and Golden Eagles.
As with all of our workshops and photo tours there will be an opening day presentation and question and answer session on photographing birds in the wild as well as a presentation on flash for bird photography.
Both workshops provide beautiful landscape and some mammal (including wild horses) photography opportunities. To see the details for the workshops see http://www.trogontours.net/malheur. To see a gallery of images from Malheur see http://www.trogontours.net/galleries/malheur
