Copyright question (published vs. unpublished)

Hello,

I'm looking into registering the copyright for some of my images for the first time and am a little unclear on something... If I posted some of my images on Flickr, do they count as published or unpublished? On one hand, no one has paid me to distribute the images, on the other hand, they're out there for the world to see. Any help would be appreciated.

My understanding, and how I treat my submissions, is that any public website counts as "published."

Craig,

It would not hurt to copyright them. Google the copyright office. For $30, you can copyright a CD of images.
If someone is tampering with your work without your permission, it is a lot harder to sue without the images copyrighted.
