I live in central Pennsylvania, and after a flurry of fall color shooting (http://www.pbase.com/miketurns/fall_2009
), my motivation has fallen off along with the leaves. This time of year it is getting cold, everything seems to be dead and brown, and there's no snow or ice yet to add interest. The insects and wildflowers are mostly gone or hidden, so some of the macro stuff I like to do is out. I'm not a big fan of shooting indoors, and don't have any kind of studio setup. Hopefully that doesn't sound too whiny, but I'm looking for a kick in the pants.
Does anyone have any tips for finding/creating interesting subjects for November/December outdoor shooting in the Appalachians and northeastern U.S.?
