MacBook Air - pass
With a maximum 256 GB SSD and no FireWire 800 port, I'll pass on the Air. 256GB might be enough today but as you add applications you're probably going to have 150 to 200GB to work with. As camera resolution increases, that won't be enough for a two-week foray into the wilds.
And if you want fast download from your CF's, go with a FireWire 800 reader -- but not on the Air.
I'll stay with my "clunky" MBPro for now.
