Default Bosque del Apache, December 4-8, 2010

I will be leading a bird photography workshop to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge this December. We currently have 2 spots left open for this trip. Bosque is one of the top bird photography locations in North America with tens of thousands of wintering cranes and geese. The background mountains and hills provide beautiful settings for photography and the lighting at sunrise and sunset is often spectacular. I will teach how to handhold a long lens for flight photography, fill flash techniques and how to shoot pan blurs and attractive shots at low shutter speeds along with other bird photography techniques. Gorazd Golob, an excellent Slovenian photographer, is bringing a small group from Europe, so we will have 2 leaders and 6-8 participants.

Cost of the workshop is $1,245. It includes lodging, a 2-3 hour classroom presentation featuring my images with question and answer period the first day, and 3 and a half days of shooting at the refuge with image reviews mid day and/or evenings. To see more details please view

I really enjoyed last year's workshop at Bosque. To see some of my photos from that workshop please visit
