NANPA Summits are much more than listening to speakers, viewing world-class, jaw-droppingly-awesome photography, and drooling over your next equipment purchase or photo workshop destination.  Lifelong friendships and connections have been made from talking to others during lunch, in the halls, or even waiting in restroom lines (I speak first-hand on the last one!)

The countdown to the 2019 Nature Photography Summit and Trade Show in Las Vegas, February 21-23 is on at NANPA HQ!   Online registrations for the full summit, one-day passes, Super Sessions, Portfolio Reviews and other tickets close February 4; but no worries if you miss that deadline, because you can still register onsite in Las Vegas.

NANPA turns 25 this year and plans are underway for birthday specials all year long!

Our first birthday gift to you is a great discount on a Summit registration that’s good until onsite registrations end on February 4.  Use promo code Happy25 for $75 off a member, non-member, or student full Summit registration.

This year’s program includes some of the greatest names in the world of nature photography, including George Lepp, Joel Sartore, John Shaw, James Balog, Sue Flood, and more!  Breakouts cover nearly every topic imaginable for every skill level.  Super Sessions are longer, targeted seminars that dig deeper into specific topics.  Check out the list or download a PDF of the program on your phone to use onsite.

Canon Professional Services returns this year doing equipment clean and checks for attendees.  KEH Camera and Used Photo Pro will be buying used gear in the vendor area, so keep that in mind when you’re packing for your trip; and bring something old and buy something new at the Trade Show.  See a list of Vendors and come prepared for some great show specials!

Also in February:  We’re compiling information from photographers of all skill levels who seek some sort of education (workshops, photo tours, seminars, and webinars, etc.) to improve their skill levels.  If you’d like to participate in the 2019 Photograph Education Trends Survey  Click this Link.   Deadline is February 9 to take the survey.

I’d like to thank Kathy Adams Clark for serving as Summit Program Chair again this year.  Kathy and I met at one of the first NANPA Summits; and I consider her not only a valued colleague, but also a dear friend.  Kathy has one of the busiest schedules around–with leading photo workshops worldwide; teaching photography classes locally in Texas (which is a very large “local” area!) and all over the US; researching, photographing for and writing books non-stop; running her own stock photography business; and volunteering countless hours for organizations she believes in.  She also did some  Summit videos for NANPA.  I don’t know how she does it and I am continually amazed at her organizational skills!

This year she is the recipient of NANPA’s Mission Award, which exemplifies what NANPA is really all about.  NANPA is fortunate to have Kathy to help with Summits and the other committees she serves on.

In Vegas, Kathy will be behind the stage coordinating all the speakers, tending to a bazillion details including writing the scripts and coordinating the entire slideshow presentations for all the general sessions, teaching a pre-summit Super Session on The Workshop and Photo Tour Industry, doing Portfolio Reviews, welcoming folks at the new Member Meet & Greet, and helping with the Vegas Night Lights Walk at the end.  Look her up in Vegas and tell her “Thanks!”

Happy 25th Birthday, NANPA!
