Nature Photography Day Photo Contest Official Rules

By entering the Nature Photography Day Photo Contest, you agree to the following terms of usage:

How to Enter

Images must be submitted through Facebook. You can visit the “Nature Photo Day Contest” link on NANPA’s Facebook page to enter.

Contestants may enter only one (1) nature-related image every 24 hours. Images must be taken between June 5 and June 15, 2020.

Rules and Eligibility

The Nature Photography Day Photo Contest is open to photographers at all levels of experience who are 18 years of age and older. Each entry must be entirely the work of the person submitting the image. Contestants do not have to be a member of NANPA to enter or win.

The purpose of the contest is to generate enthusiasm for Nature Photography Day. All submitted images must be taken between June 5 and June 15, 2020. Images submitted should showcase nature—wildlife, flowers, landscapes, conservation, or other natural elements.

NANPA reserves the right to disqualify images that are inappropriate or do not adhere to NANPA’s Position Statements, including Ethical Field Practices, Truth in Captioning Statement and its Statement on Photography Game Farms. NANPA shall determine entry eligibility at its sole and absolute discretion.

Spouses, partners, or significant others of the judges (Hank Erdmann, Bruce Lipsky and Karen Schuenemann) are not eligible to win a prize.

You can enter one (1) image every 24 hours between June 5-15, 2020, but there’s a limit of one prize per person.

Winning images may be published, with credit but without compensation to the photographer, on NANPA’s website and social media accounts. Additionally, winning images may be used in the future to promote NANPA’s Nature Photography Day contest or activities. Entrants retain ownership and all other rights for current or future use of the photographs they enter.

By entering the contest, each entrant accepts the rules as stated and guarantees that all the information provided is correct and truthful. By entering, participants warrant that his or her entry materials are original and do not infringe on any third party’s rights.

This contest is in no way sponsored or administered by Facebook. You grant NANPA permission to email you as part of this contest on the entry form, and you can revoke permission at any time using the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of every email.

NANPA is not responsible for any errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of the Nature Photography Day Photo Contest. NANPA reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest at any time.

Contest void where prohibited.

Acceptable formats include GIF, JPG, or PNG. Photos should follow Facebook rules and will be automatically resized by Facebook if needed. There is not a file size limit or ratio requirement. You may submit any size image. Submissions may be watermarked with copyright information if desired, but the watermark should be inconspicuous enough not to interfere with the judging of the photo.

Contest period

Contest opens June 5 and closes at 11:59 p.m. EDT on June 15, 2020. Contestants may enter only one (1) image within 24 hours, and photos must be taken within the June 5-15, 2020 time period.

Three (3) winning images will be awarded the publicized prize packages by three (3) NANPA member judges. Additionally, four (4) Honorable Mention prizes will be awarded at the judges’ discretion. All judging decisions are final.

2020 Judges are:

Hank Erdmann
