Default Epson Stylus Pro 4900 Printer/third party ink

I'm considering purchasing the Epson Stylus Pro 4900 printer and would be interested in anyone's experience with the printer. Also, any input anyone might have concerning using third-party inks.

I have the Epson 4900. It's a great printer. To date I have only used genuine Epson inks. While they are a little more expensive, introducing the variables of a third party in ink, profiles, etc. seems to be a false economy.
